The Grand Rapids Triathlon is honored to have been chosen by USA Triathlon as the event to host the 2018 High School State Championship for Michigan. High School students from all over Michigan are invited to join us in our Sprint Distance Triathlon (600 meter swim, 20k bike and 5k run) on Sunday, June 10th. Athletes between the ages of 15 – 19 years old (as of 12/31/2018) are welcome to participate in this Championship, regardless of which high school they attend.
The price of this special Championship event will be $65 throughout registration being open. Athletes may register online until Noon on Tuesday, June 5th. They are also able to register in person at Packet Pick Up on Saturday, June 9th from Noon to 4 PM at Amway Global Spaulding Complex (5101 Spaulding Plaza SE, Ada, MI 49355). All athletes wanting to participate in the Grand Rapids Triathlon are required to attend Packet Pick Up the day before the race, there is no race day packet pick up. Picture ID is required by USAT to get your packet (no exceptions). You need proof of high school enrollment (dated student ID); if the student is graduating prior to the event date they may not participate in the State Championship.
All Grand Rapids Tri High School Championship Finishers will receive a participant t-shirt (or tank for female athletes), a finisher medal, an athlete poster, swag bag, and special High School Championship finisher gift. High School State Championship will be awarded to top 3 overall males and females.
