* PLEASE NOTE: you will only be allowed to pickup your packet during your designated times – see below. Relay teams must check-in together and all members of the team must pick up their own packets. No exceptions will be made.
* If you arrive outside your designated time, there will be a delay in picking up your packet
Noon to 1:30pm – ½ Iron
1:00 to 2:30pm – Olympic
2:00 to 3:30pm – Sprint
3pm to 4pm – Anyone

No one but YOU can pick up your packet. You must show a valid picture ID and USAT card (if you are an annual member). There will be NO exceptions to this rule. As a sanctioned USAT race, we CANNOT allow an exception to this rule.
All participants must have a signed USAT Waiver to get their race packet. You may print one off here to bring to packet pick up or there will be copies available onsite. USAT Waiver
We will take new registrations at packet pickup, however there is NO RACE DAY registration. Race day Packet Pick-up will only be made for exceptional cases and with advance arrangements made. Please email Lori at email@example.com for more information.

Out of Town Participants
Need your bike shipped?
If you need to have your bike shipped to the Grand Rapids area for race day, Raceday Transport has partnered with the USAT to provide shipping of your bike. Contact them for further information.
Out of town participants can have their bike shipped the following bike shops, which are Grand Rapids Triathlon sponsors. Just give them a call to reserve your spot before shipping your equipment!

4:00am – Road Closed for Transition
5:15-6:45am – Transition Area Opens
6:00-6:30am – Pre-race Swim
6:45am – 1/2 Iron Transition Closes
6:45am – Course Meeting
7:30am – Sprint & Olympic Transition Closes
PLEASE NOTE: For Swim Waves, each swim wave will receive a different cap color. Waves will be based on distance, sex and age. Swim wave start times will be posted at packet pickup.
REMEMBER: Your age is race age (as of 12/31/2015) not your age today!

7:00am – Half Distance (Wave 1) – Red Caps – Men age 39 & Under, all Clydesdales, all relays (male, female, or co-ed), all Aquabikes (male or female)
7:05am – Half Distance (Wave 2) – Black Caps – Men age 40 & over (no Clydesdales, Aquabikes or Relays)
7:10am – Half Disntace (Wave 3) – Purple Caps – Women all ages, all Athenas (no relays or Aquabikes)
7:30 am – Sprint (Wave 4) – Fluorescent Orange – Chariots
7:45am – Sprint (Wave 5) – Silver – Men age 34 & under, all Clydesdales, all relays (male, female, or co-ed), all Aquabikes (male or female)
7:50am – Sprint (Wave 6) – Fluorescent green – men age 35 & over (no Clydesdales, Aquabikes or Relays)
7:55am – Sprint (Wave 7) – Light pink – all women, all Athenas (no relays or Aquabikes)
8:00am – Sprint (Wave 8) – Fluorescent yellow – Newbie Wave (men & women who registered to be in this smaller wave)
8:15am – Olympic (Wave 9) – Light blue – Men age 39 & Under, all Clydesdales, all relays (male, female, or co-ed), all Aquabikes (male or female), all MECTC (male & female)
8:20am – Olympic (Wave 10) – Purple – Men age 40 & over (no Clydesdales, Aquabikes or Relays)
8:25am – Olympic (Wave 11) – Fluorescent orange – Women all ages, all Athenas (no relays or Aquabikes)
PLEASE NOTE: Wave times are preliminary and may vary based on the number of participants registered for each race distance. Aquabikes will start in the same wave as the triathlon of that distance.
Half Distance Cutoff Times
9:15am – Swim
12:15pm – Bike
3:15pm – Run
6:00pm – Roads Open
PLEASE NOTE: By registering for this event you agree to adhere to the cutoff times. Due to roads being re-opened all athletes must be removed from the course at 3:15pm. By choosing to participate in this event, you agree to be removed the course at the designated times if necessary.
Shuttles will be running all day – it is recommended you have someone drop you off at the athletic drop off area (see map above), then have them park and take a trolley to the race site.
NO EQUIPMENT IS ALLOWED ON TROLLEYS

The GRTRI has been chosen by the USAT as the only Triathlon in Michigan to screen for young Olympians.
What does that mean?
If you are between the ages of 15 – 19 (age as of December 31st of the current year) and participate in our Sprint event, you could be chosen to be groomed for the next USA Olympic Team!
What do you do next?
Register for the Sprint event, by clicking the Register Button on the homepage. Ages 15-19 who register will automatically be included in the reporting for Talent ID.
